With data segmented across four locations, no central reporting capability and a paper based surveying process, Network Rail requested a centralised database solution to improve operational efficiency and provide accurate and instant reporting over the entire operation.
A detailed requirements analysis from Mouchel allowed us to architect a single, centralised database with a secure web-based interface which could be accessed at all locations and by examiners in the field.
Future developments are to include the development of PDA and Smart phone interfaces to improve mobility of field staff and also to extend the process engine for added efficiencies.
